If you have the latest Flash plug-in, you can see, in the above image, my 'in-depth' analysis of each level in Game A. One motif I've noticed is that some people seem perfectly complacent with starting at Level 0 and just crank out singles and doubles. It's small wonder that they're usually the first to dismiss the game as "boring." Basically I recommend starting at Levels past 5 for both point and line accumulation. One can quickly lose interest from the sluggish speeds the first five levels offer. For the big scores, meanwhile, I tend to start at Level 8 - therefore one can score 89 lines before the game begins to go faster. During this stretch, one could theoretically gain at least 237,600 points if he or she were to score solely tetrises! (Refer to the Points Table for more info.) Starting at Level 9, at least for me, results in 'diminishing returns' - for there is obviously less time to wait for straight tetrads to score tetrises. Of course, reaction time diminishes, and maintaining the proper Tetris Curve becomes increasingly difficult. |
